2011 I had gastric bypass to minimize my risks of T2D, as i didn’t want to end up insulin dependent T2D like my mom. Now I am hypo, and my hack is to put off solid food as long as I can, because then I have to eat every 3 hrs to even things out. Very frustrating.

My spouse is so fatphobic and I never knew it because I was skinny when we got married 😭 I was so sure I was imagining their indifference toward me after I gained weight. But no! I have lost weight this past year in treatment for my T2D and all of a sudden.. the compliments and praises returned. 😒

So why cover a GLP-1 for a patient who has a BMI >30 but no other health conditions if you can make them pay out of pocket? That patient might develop T2D in a decade or 20 or 30 years, but they're not going to be your patient then.

Diabetes care. My T2D grandfather died of very serious complications when I was in my teens, my T2D dad has outlived him with fewer health complications, and I am hopefully going to avoid progressing to frank diabetes thanks to GLP-1s and similar drugs.
