Was vaxed originally before 1968; doc said it’s a good idea. Also redid my TDAP.

A baby in Mississippi has died of whooping cough for the first time since 2012.
The infant was less than two months old and was not old enough to receive the pertussis vaccine.

We got TDAP when our daughter was PG, b/c it was recommended. Both born in the 40’s, prob immune, but who knows? Vaccine likely cheaper than a titre.

The r0 for pertussis is around 14, and the Tdap booster drops below 50% vaccine efficacy at 4.5 years. If it's been more than 4-5 years since your last Tdap booster, get one of those too. Get them now while they are still available.

actually you know it's pretty cool that I just bounced over to Walgreens and got my covid, flu, and TDAP shots all at once, for zero dollars and zero cents. I encourage you to do the same! (if it's been more than ten years for your TDAP, PLEASE do that)

Everyone should get either the Tdap or Td every 10 years. It's the T (tetanus) part you need every 10yr as a booster.
Tdap:
Tetanus
Diphtheria
Pertussis (whooping cough)
Td is a similar vaccine but without the pertussis part. Your doctor may give you Tdap or Td - just ask them!
