#toadspawn
Outdoor Learning classes have been working incredibly hard this year and we've been particularly impressed by 7LOl1 with their amazing work in finding toads, newts and butterflies! 🐸 🦋

We have the perfect habitat to create a breeding ground and space for toadspawn to develop - watch this space! 😊

Here's my two minute explainer of atproto:

- A tadpole emerges from toadspawn.
- They swim around nibbling things and grow legs.
- Eventually they grow arms.
- Toads get together to lay more spawn, the cycle repeats.
Here's my two minute explainer of atproto: it is in essence a water cycle.

- Clouds hold water.
- They precipitate water over mountains.
- Water funnels down mountains into rivers.
- Rivers branch off into lakes.
- Water evaporates back into clouds, the cycle repeats.

Newt happened to me with a different pond, I got very cross. But the frogspawn & toadspawn kept coming back and so I supposed that the newts could not defeat a toad or frog in need of egglaying.

Three signs of Spring seen on Monday during a trip to NW Herefords: toadspawn, Chocolate Mining Bee (Andrena scotica) on Lesser Celandine and a lovely display of Wild Daffodils.

Is it frogspawn or toadspawn in your pond? Here’s how you can tell the difference. 👇️ 🐸

🟢 Frogspawn is found in jelly-like clumps floating near the surface.
🟢 Toadspawn is found in long gelatinous strings wrapped around plants.

Rain, wind & mud didn’t stop the amazing team at Hawthorn Tree Primary School!

Staff & pupils worked with our #BostonAndBeyond team to line & plant their new wildlife pond.

Now they're watching for frogspawn & toadspawn as breeding season begins.

🐸 Frogspawn is one of spring’s earliest signs—sometimes appearing in January! Our Signs of Spring survey tracks if spawning times are shifting with climate change. Frogspawn forms clumps; toadspawn appears in strings. Seen any? Share your sighting: buff.ly/W3lMfg3

Those people have no skin in the game. They do not care about nature, about otters and eels, or the precious Natterjack toads that will further be imperilled by the water abstraction.

I sincerely hope Yvette Cooper chokes on an extra dry bit of toast and thinks she's going to die, every single day for the rest of her life.

I was going to call her "toadspawn" as an insult, but toads are likeable. She isn't.
2023: Yvette Cooper all for peaceful protest and free speech.

2025: 474 peaceful protesters arrested in a single day, right outside parliament.

What a difference 2 years makes..

So, we have a government, and the politicians that form that government *once they are in government* have job descriptions to fulfil and objectives to carry out on behalf of the organisation.

That organisation is centuries old, but it's still The Firm.

I'm getting way too mad, I'm gonna pop into bed, request your neighborhood covens all cast a curse of plagues onto the homes of the elected-apparents of America (and legally deliver them bulk live bees and toadspawn via post), then look up a bunch of manga to read until I fall asleep. Or stay awake.

Mewling toadspawn.
1/ Commerce Secretary Lutnick is saying stupid things about tariffs, including that tariffs do not cause prices of domestically-produced products to rise. He is wrong. Tariffs cause all prices to rise, including domestically-produced products. Let me explain (using Economics 101).
Lutnick: "Foreign goods may become a little more expensive, but domestic goods do not. So if you're looking at Poland Springs water vs Fiji Water, the Poland Springs is not gonna be more expensive. For the first time in your lives you're gonna actually think about Americans who make the products."

When visiting one of the small lakes nearby, I was delighted to see that the toads came to spawn. I thought the migration was already over.

I did wonder as I couldn’t see any toadspawn!! Lots of frogspawn but no frogs in view. It was interesting seeing the little male toad making a hollow in leaf litter and silt at the bottom of the pond and disappearing from view into it.

The toads have arrived! You can just hear their little chirps, and check out the clouds of frogspawn at the end - this is new habitat created just a few years ago. It’s embarrassing how happy this makes me 😂🐸

This is the most spread out frog spawning we’ve had here in Kent. 1st spawn Feb 23rd. After a few days, a week of hard frost, then phase 2 spawning then a 2nd period of frost. This morning tadpoles from phases 1 & 2 and new spawn at the other end of the pond! No toadspawn…yet! @froglife.bsky.social

Oh, & there was an abundance of frogspawn & a little toadspawn in the big pond, which is always a smile-inducing sight.
