One of the things that's implicitly understood by tech people is that the chatbot-toolcalling loop Agent model combined with a structure for setting and evaluating goals, is more or less essentially the same thing as dumb genetic algorithms used to do AI speedruns of games 20 years ago.

This won't be true forever, many AI systems are going to get direct-sensing embodiments, and agents/toolcalling are already providing external input signals. That said, there will always be noosphere-first entities that need to be understood this way and benefit from this kind of interaction
