Like, they brought the White Ethno-nationalist lady from Sam Seder's episode back for Mehdi Hasan's one. It's not about "exposing" America's dark undercurrents, it's about providing a lucrative circuit for those undercurrents to secure a cheque & reach a wider audience.

This is probably unpopular on Bluesky, but I think what French is saying here is basically true. The IDEOLOGICAL foundations of the GOP, pre-Trump, have been razed to the ground. What he omits is that most GOP voters were instead attracted to certain EMOTIONAL undercurrents, out of which MAGA arose.
