Bollocks. It was a vote directed by pathos and lies. The subsequent economic, political and geopolitical fallout have demonstrated this. There never will be ‘sunny uplands’ for a UK that is adrift in a world of alliances and mega-trade deals.

We need upland hillsides covered in gorse feeding nitrogen into the soil & sheltering the young trees we need covering hills currently bare & almost devoid of ability to hold water.
Peat is a fine carbon store until it dries out, as many uplands currently designated peatlands will. Then it’s fuel.
