Had a moment where a random person's TikTok came across my fyp asking what they needed to know for bringing their D&D campaign to stream, and someone simply said 'VDOninja and obs oh and a vtt'. NGL, I balked at the confidence that this is what you would tell a new person.

This is how I personally collab when one of us is a Vtubestudio vtuber, and the other is a Vroid vtuber.

Hey VDONinja experts! Can one of you advise if there is a way to record audio and video locally through that? I feel like I was on a show that asked me to do that, and the resulting file isn’t huge, but I’m not sure what kind of quality it yields.

Can you imagine recommending VDOninja to someone who's waiting on their friend to build them a PC and has only ever looked into SLOBS? That's pretty much the equivalent of saying you can't stream games unless you get a dual PC setup.

This was actually my first IRL event I've done tech for, everything over the past 5 years has been online. The graphics were built using NodeCG with a custom set picker for matches.
P2 cam was wired, with P1 being wireless using an iPad with vdoninja by xyster.

I'm curious about this, because it would take mental load off me to keep PixelChat in check. I'm also looking into VDONinja captioning, but this may be an alternative. 👀

I use the OBS plug-in for myself and the PixelChat for group settings, but I am looking into VDONinja captioning for the latter. It's not ideal with my accent, but better than nothing.

sometimes it's -32° F outside, you get into vdoninja at 6pm, and then you record until midnight because your coteriemate's sire's GOTTA DIE BEFORE SEASON 2. and you end up writing a fergalicious parody in the group chat during the murder scene. it happens to everyone!
Those flashback episodes got pretty intense huh? 👀 Behind the scenes, we recorded chapters 25 and 26 in a single night, totalling five hours of recording including our costume change breaks! Things got a little unhinged in the Camarilla cast chat toward the end there...

Oh this is exactly what I am looking for, I didnt realize you could do separate audio tracks in OBS.
I remember seeing vdoninja mentioned before but I was overwhelmed looking at it. But I think I have much bigger handle on things now to get it.

Update: you can actually start a recording right from the VDONinja UI! The only things I noticed are that all the downloads start immediately, and you do HAVE to have a nametag on each video source, or you'll have a hell of a time trying to tell which file is which person's video
