In Ireland, it has rained every day in 2026 so far.

But hopefully this shall end soon, and there are signs it will, and #FlowerPowerFriday shall document this, and #WeirdNotWonderful #EnglishAbsurdity.

Floral tastemakers have been in touch, and I can now confirm, as the first Friday of April commences, purple is the latest thing, the new yellow, if you will.

And of course, those #WeirdNotWonderful creatures shall be adding Absurdity.

#FlowerPowerFriday, shall be, for the foreseeable future, daffodil-centric, blessed as we are with an awful lot of them...

But fear not, the #weirdnotwonderful creatures shall highlight the much required diversity we seek...

In a world full of Trumpian vulgarity and ugliness, it is good to remember that we still Swiss Rolls and Jam Tarts.

And, I suppose, the bountiful botanical beauty of Nature.

And the #EnglishAbsurdity of those #WeirdNotWonderful creatures.

A discarded Crisp packet marrs today's #FlowerPowerFriday.

I sometimes wish that those #WeirdNotWonderful Creatures were more like The Wombles, then the one pictured, would remove the crisp packet, take it back to its house, and turn it into something useful, like an Oven Glove.

It's the time of year when the world falls in love.

Good heavens, what am I prattling on about? that's Christmas, not spring.
Spring is when we look to Tom Lehrer for advice.

But Spring is here, and so is #FlowerPowerFriday and #WeirdNotWonderful Creatures.

An interesting fact about me, Carly Simon once wrote a song about me.

I know what you're thinking, "How vain is this guy?"
But fret not, my vanity doesn't prevent me enjoying #flowersonfriday, like this one daffodil, next to a #WeirdNotWonderful creature.

But today it eludes me. So I will simply share, today's #FlowerPowerFriday, No words.
