"Refreshed and Ready"
Winter and Qibli graciously give us insight into their daily morning routine, just in time for the end of June.
Happy pride.
#WingsOfFire #wof #wofQibli #wofWinter #wofUmber #dragon
A comic page featuring Winter the Icewing and Qibli the Sandwing. The setting is a cave room with several rock shelves and small water pools and basins, implied to be a kind of bathroom. Winter is standing at a body of water and brushing his teeth. Qibli slinks through the door and past him, prompting Winter to comment that Qibli finally got out of bed and that he is too late to get clean and ready in time for class. Qibli assures him he will be. He grabs a nearby towel and rubs his face with it. Then he puts it away and claims this is all he needs to be ready for the day. Winter is speechless and stunned at this declaration, then hisses and is overtaken by unyielding rage at Qibli's horrid hygiene standards. The last panel is an exaggerated close-up of his face, enraged and wreathed in heavy shadow, with teeth exposed and glowing eyes. A comic page continuing the previous events. Umber the Mudwing knocks at the room entrance and pokes his head through the door. He explains Webs sent him to check up on the two since they weren't there when class started. It then shows Winter, surrounded by soap bubbles, shoving Qibli into a mound of foam and dunking him in water. Only his hand is visible through the foam. Winter declares that Webs will have to wait, as this is "a hygiene emergency." Umber accepts this explanation and bows out. Finally, Qibli resurfaces, gasping for air. A block of soap is in his mouth and he is spitting out more foam. Winter says "Stop eating the soap! You ninny!" as he continues pushing him into the water.

"Guardian Angel"

At present, I have not read Book 16. This comic is based on information from Arcs 1 and 2 only. So if there are any contradictions with things happening in Arc 4, they're outside the scope of my knowledge.

#WingsOfFire #wof #wofClay #wofUmber #dragon
A comic page featuring Umber. He is walking through swampy terrain while narrating. The narration implies that this environment is a dream. He recounts a recurring dream he is having in which, whenever he turns around, he sees his brother Clay off in the distance, looking at him. The visuals reflect his account, showing Clay watching him from between some trees in the back. Umber continues that he tried to call out and approach Clay, but he never responds and is always gone when he makes his way to where he saw him. Umber then states that he's having this dream once every week and wonders what it could mean. He concludes that he likes to imagine the dream means Clay is somehow watching over him and his sister from afar. As Umber's narration ends, the scene shifts to Clay, looking somber in a dark room. He is holding a glowing Dreamvisitor in his hand and says: "...still alive."

#wofTurtle #wofUmber
A shot of the scene from above. Turtle is sitting to the left, touching his face as if to wipe away a tear. Umber is getting up from his bed perch and approaching Turtle calmly. Text: TURTLE: Why did I ever stake so much of who I am on this person I barely even know? After everything that has happened, or rather didn't happen… Knowing that I'm the one who got lucky, and that likely nothing is going to change for any of my brothers who are still waiting… I just can't think of that stranger as my mother. I don't know if that makes me ungrateful? A picture of Turtle and Umber sitting close together. Umber is gesticulating while talking from the heart. Turtle listens and looks at him with a smile. Text: UMBER: Not at all. That's actually the way it usually goes where I'm from. TURTLE: Oh… right, yeah. UMBER: I get what you mean though. You don't have to feel beholden to a person just because, after years of ignoring you, she suddenly decided to show you the bare minimum of decency. It's fine for you to feel the way you do. You don't owe her your consideration. TURTLE: Thanks, Umber. ... Close up of Turtle looking wistfully into the distance. Text: TURTLE: Perhaps... I might write her a letter some time. You know, like, whenever I have a free moment and nothing else is going on. UMBER: Ah yeah, that might take a while, ha ha. Webs has been saving all the material you guys missed while you were gone. You're probably gonna be drowning in homework for a while. TURTLE: Ah. That's okay. She's waited so long to talk to me. It's clear she's fond of waiting, so I'll let her enjoy herself a little longer. The same close up of Turtle as before, but now he is looking towards the viewer (Umber) with his expression shifting into a goofy, dopey smile. Picture of Turtle and Umber side by side. Turtle is laughing happily while Umber gives him an encouraging grin and a playful punch in the shoulder. Text: UMBER: Look at that. Son of the year right here.

"From a Movie"

Not my best work.
(prompt sheet by Pencilcat)
A scene showing the original members of the Jade Winglet sitting in a dark room together. In the foreground is a TV playing a very violent and gore-y movie. Qibli and Winter look thoroughly put-off, with the latter's mouth hanging agape in shocked disgust. Moonwatcher looks awkward, like she doesn't really want to be there, her eyes averted from the screen. Carnelian is really into the movie, wearing a huge grin and having her fists raised in front of her. Kinkajou looks amused and is laughing at the events of the film, somehow completely unfazed. Turtle meanwhile is quietly sobbing into a pillow. In the background, Umber is in the process of leaving the room altogether.

"D&D"

(prompt sheet by Pencilcat)
A comic featuring the Jade Winglet playing a tabletop role-playing game. Moonwatcher is seen surrounded by a mystical aura, her eyes glowing an eerie white as she looks into the future. She begins recounting a sequence of numbers going "14, 11, 7, 12, 1, 20" and states that these are the next numbers Qibli is going to roll. Qibli is happy about this and declares that his character is going to do 5 backflips and then attempt to seduce the Queen. Umber, who is the Dungeon Master for this session, confirms the action and, with a somewhat bemused expression on his face, tells Moonwatcher to see him after the session for a talk. Meanwhile Turtle is wondering why he "dumped Constitution."

(prompt sheet by Pencilcat)
A scene showing Prince Turtle of the Seawings and Umber the Mudwing, both asleep on top of two reed mats. Turtle is curled up in a half-open fetal position, while one of Umber's forelegs is awkwardly draped across the former's face.

Recently finished reading WoF book 16. Planning on making more fanarts.
I'll try and save them after I get the comics out of the way first.
