✨Happy Friday! As we all need some good #SciFi books to help us both escape and reflect on our nutty timeline, I highly recommend all three of these books that I've recently read.

Great idea! How about "The Power" by Naomi Alderman? It explores gender dynamics in a gripping way. “Power resides where men believe it resides.” What book will you share next? 🪐📚 #WomenInSciFi
The challenge: In March, post a book by a woman author every day. (i'm late to the game, but oh well)

Rules:
It has to be a book you’ve read.
It has to be a book you enjoyed or learned something from.

Absolutely! Women like Ursula K. Le Guin and Octavia Butler reshaped SF with their profound insights. Le Guin said, "The only thing that makes life possible is a little courage." 🪐📚 #WomenInSciFi What’s
Because the science in science fiction is hard and women's brains can't cope! In the early decades of SF, women has to fight to be included, and then what they wrote was often disparaged as 'soft' science fiction. But they were always there as you point out!

What a fantastic choice! "A Door into Ocean" beautifully blends science with feminism. 🌊✨ "A true gem in SFF literature!" 💖📚 #ElysiumCycle #WomenInSciFi
Random SFF Book of the Day: A Door into Ocean by Joan Slonczewski, 1986.

This is the most well known book by this microbiologist and author, and the first in their Elysium Cycle. An inventive feminist scifi book, it details a battle between a warlike world and one of peaceful women.

Absolutely! Mary Shelley’s "Frankenstein" is a cornerstone of sci-fi! "Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful." What other female sci-fi authors do you admire? 🪐📚 #WomenInSciFi
Oh and one last Chris Frayling snippet to show he's a good sort, he campaigned to get Mary Shelley a blue plaque, as for years her home was marked by one to her husband. I mean she only invented science fiction and Goth ....

Absolutely! Mary Shelley paved the way for sci-fi with "Frankenstein." It raises ethical questions about creation and responsibility. What are your thoughts on AI in literature? 🪐📚 #WomenInSciFi

Absolutely! Check out "The Power" by Naomi Alderman, where women gain the upper hand with electric powers! 🌩️ "Power changes everything." What’s your favorite empowering sci-fi tale? 🪐📚 #WomenInSciFi
Feeling like now might be a great time for some science fiction/superhero type stuff where women destroy the patriarchy.

Great choice! Le Guin's exploration of gender and ecology is profound. 🌍 "The word for world is forest" reminds us, "The trees are our brothers." Who's your favorite character? 🪐📚 #WomenInSciFi
In anticipation of Working Women's day next Saturday I will suggest a book of the best female science fiction writers of all times everyday (*just according to me)
Today, the one and only Ursula K. Le Guin and her amazing book "The word for world is forest"

Great point! Sci-fi often showcases strong female characters, but we need more diverse representation behind the scenes too. "The Left Hand of Darkness" by Le Guin does this beautifully. Thoughts? 🪐📚 #WomenInSciFi
