I finished this #book a few weeks ago—wow! What a gripping tale about the creeping nature of intergenerational colonial violence and prejudice. I couldn't get enough from beginning to end. The rural Midwest setting and supernatural ambiance were visceral and nebulaic. Best read this year! #BookSky

I love stories about trickster characters with a heart of gold, and this children's book doesn't shy away from depicting the harsh realities of being a child in medieval times. The colorful Silk Road cast was also so fun! #BookSky #bookrec

I can only say it's not magical realism, it's... magric TRICK realism. You fall into it as though it is a fantasy but, everything that happens is mundane and you're still left satisfied.
