My mum wanted the details of her death heard. She strongly believed in the right to die & had a living will.

Am digital ethicist, can confirm, it is unethical to have LLMs or your chair do your research for you.
"people are anthropomorphizing LLMs because they are so astonishingly good at processing human thought and language" people will anthropomorphize a chair if you put the stitches in the right place.

A nice example for educators in the technical aspects of #datavis, cartography and computer science (I am one). We need to be teaching tech people to take the ethics of their work seriously and the obligations they have to act responsibly.

But we're not talking nearly enough about how generative AI is not just ethically wrong, but being used as a tool of integration and assimilation since it only feeds users what has already been fed into the machine, and if you follow the money, if you look at the players, there is no good intent.

I’m having ‘big ethicist feelings’ today, but this is the closest to my own personal sentiment.
For my part, I think what has happened with Jason Arday is shameful: academic dishonesty is career-ruining misconduct but it is not a crime much less a capital one and once Arday resigned that should have been the end of it.
Instead he was basically bullied to death. Shameful.

I would love it if they would *stop* sending me the alert. I’ve had it four times now just tonight. While I know I joke about burning everything to the ground, I don’t actually need to be told not to start literal fires… that many times.
