Another 80,000 Hours ad on a channel I otherwise respect, another retweet of the thread explaining how wildly unethical that is.
Whenever I mention 80,000 Hours I get questions like this, so to answer it all publicly: It's actually a whole lot worse than going for a quick buck. 80,000 Hours is a reputation-laundering machine for a fringe ideology's most dangerous tendencies.
80000 hours was bad? I mean, if it's using influencer campaigns it no doubt is, but I wonder what specific ill they wish upon the world for a quick buck.

A fun thing about the current wave of people taking pride in having not heard a song is that the specific variant "I would never choose Texas" reads as people just simping on main.

In two years late comic posting, I don't love how Fall of the House of X/Rise of the Powers of X are collected. Chiefly, I think X-Men Forever is so vital to understanding what's going on at parts that it should simply be in there. Maybe Dead X-Men too.

The omnibus might be too much though.

I get that the future is bad and tech is extremely part of that, but it still feels wild (positive) to live in a time where you can carry around a brick sized object that plugs into a phone charger that can jumpstart a car.

Between the monopolization of the industry by right-wing dipshits and the AI Inevitabilitists (is that a word? idfc), I've never felt better about shifting to writing primarily about cinema's past, rather than hinging my professional longevity on w/e tf it's gonna become

Choosin' Texas is big enough that it got a bardcore parody months ago, but no it's definitely just an insular group of knuckle draggers listening to it on loop on spotify juicing the numbers.

Absolutely lost my shit at this co-op mode for Hearts of Iron, which you play as the Army, Navy, Emperor, and Government. All have their own win conditions aside the Government, which lost the game automatically in 1925.

I know exactly what sort of show The Librarians is, but setting the drawing of Caliburn from the stone all the way in 819CE is extremely silly even by their standards.
