Cannot emphasize enough that the morass we find ourselves in everywhere is a result of this commitment to white supremacy. The eugenic health policy, the belief and desire for US autarky, meddling & murder in Latin America, the half-cocked belief that the US could bully Iran- it really is.

How do I know Hegseth’s order to deny access to bases to members of Congress is about a cover up, not about safety?

Because I asked for a military briefing at the embassy as a substitute and was told the policy prohibited military leaders in the region from even talking to me.

Reflecting on it, Musk getting into government and making a beeline straight for USAID is one of the most depraved acts in human history. A relatively small department with a relatively small budget but mostly focused on saving the lives of Africans. It’s the first thing he destroyed!

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

Sometimes I head over to X to find an old tweet of mine or something like that and it’s shocking how evil it is now. The most inhuman putrid malevolent posts are all at the top of the feed. Literal Hell on Earth.

The White House’s proposal to penalize nonprofits that help disabled people vote is just part of the Trump administration’s broader attempts to restrict voting access, especially among groups that have historically faced disenfranchisement.

The New York Times has a choice of whether to cover Trumpism as A) an amusing and colorful example of the oddity of American politics, or B) an existential threat to the future of everyone you know and love. Over and over, they choose A. They trivialize themselves.

My greatest frustrating has been with policy wonks who persist in thinking we can just keep doing normal policy analysis ("calling balls and strikes") in this situation.

The President of the United States is both lawless and out of his mind. That preempts all normal discussion.

The media does not reflect the public's interests but broadcasts it's own.
Rahm Emanuel, who has about a good a chance of being president as I do, has been profiled like 9 times in the last couple months in major newspapers. It really shows you how profoundly out of touch the people are that drive much of our national political discourse.
“Talking to Rahm, it’s like middle-age married sex,” said John Anzalone, a Democratic pollster who has known him for decades. “It’s focused. You know what you’re going for. And it’s short.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/26/u...
