Dan Wilson in the Dumbest Boy Alive
So...just to make sure I got this: Kade Anderson made his MLB debut against an excellent and very hot team. He went 5 innings, gave up 2 hits and 1 run w/5 Ks. Then -- and again I want to make sure I'm reading this right -- they *brought him back out to face the top of the order for the 3rd time?*

Absolutely fuck the Seattle Times
It is *really* not ok for the media to suddenly claim that a recall petition, which any registered voter can file, are suddenly “charges” - making it sound like Mayor Wilson is facing prosecution. These headlines are an incredibly biased attack on a progressive mayor. And they’re unusual.
Charges were filed to recall Mayor Wilson. What does that mean?
The charge filing is the first of multiple steps required before a recall effort reaches a petition stage and qualifies for a ballot.

"Do the Dew, Ray."
People will come Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. "We won't mind if you look around," you'll say. "It's only $20 per person. Plus you can get $50 in free bets when you sign up for an account."

We don’t have to go back to Before. We can keep welcoming pedestrians, cyclists, transit riders, food vendors, EVERYONE and keep that World Cup spirit.
#ThrowbackThursday to just a few weeks ago, when the Seattle waterfront was alive with soccer fans from around the globe. ⚽🌎

Welcoming people has always been part of our mission, and this summer was one we'll never forget.

MLB in one of its propaganda videos is referencing a CBS Sports roundtable in which every one of us said, no, MLB does not need a salary cap. I guess that's why they screen-capped the headline instead of, you know, quoting from the actual piece.

Jerry is the worst owner in sports. He is why I don't even think about the NBA. A cancer on teams. His family should sell as soon as they feasibly can do so.
If Jerry Reinsdorf is so broke he might consider having more Murakami merch for sale at Rate Field. I had to circle the entire stadium and go to 5 different stores before finding a Murakami t-shirt.

I suggested the salesperson tell Reinsdorf to stock more gear and he said “he never listens to us.”
”Please, please, please stop us from competing with each other.”

This is 1980s stuff, like Jerry Reinsdorf found his old diaries or something.

York Revolution forfeit game after some players refuse to wear 'Pride Night' jersey
The York Revolution has forfeited its game Thursday night against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs after an internal controversy surrounding "Pride Night" and the pride jersey, according to the team. In a statement, the club announced that, out of respect for the Pride community and the York community as a whole, the June 18 game will be forfeited, but Pride Night festivities will continue as the feature element at WellSpan Park. The decision comes on the heels of several of the team's players refusing to wear the Pride Night jersey. As a result, the club decided the team should not be forced to wear jerseys they aren't comfortable with. However, in the announcement, the club reiterated its belief that hosting the event is more important than playing the game. "We feel that this is the best way to stay consistent with our long-standing partnerships with the Rainbow Rose Center, JLS Automation and the long list of allies that have always been key partners of the York Revolution’s success in York, Pennsylvania," the club wrote in its announcement. As an act of support for the LGBTQIA+ community, the team announced it is making a $10,000 donation to the Rainbow Rose Center to further their work on inclusivity. To be clear; this action by the players is completely inconsistent with our vision as the Most Welcoming Place in York. Tickets for the game are being treated as a rainout and can be redeemed for any future game, the club confirmed.
