We moved away from "slurs are for tacky poor people" because that's not Class Conscious but you can't tell people how hurtful and powerful they are and then not expect people to use them against people they want to hurt. Republicans don't care about actual critique, they're to powerful for it to hit

One you might find surprising. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt & members of her team have been extremely helpful in responding to questions I raise. Regardless of public facing commentary, privately they are willing to engage and address questions. And I have appreciated that. Thank you

Eric, on the bait plane, right after impact: Well at least they laid out the Good Snacks
How is TJ Maxx not getting in on "looksmaxxing," riding it hard for a fiscal quarter of advertising campaign, then walking away with the satisfaction of having murdered the trend.
Honestly if I was a Republican I would be paying the envelope to see how far people go to blame Dems for my actions as well. I'd feel untouchable knowing I can threaten nukes and all the blame will fall on the person I already beat! Heads I win, tails you lose!

Reuters: A rapidly aging and increasingly unpopular warlord who, since rising to power ten years ago, has inspired worshipful loyalty from his small but politically influential core comprised of radicalized nihilists and fundamentalist believers, elicits worldwide panic by tweeting “Death to Iran.”

They don't care about any values but domination and submission. Any attempt to explain this away by economic environment or cultural neglect is bullshit. These people are excluded because they are toxic parasites
something i’ve gathered about conservatives over the years, not just the elected ones but the regular ones too, is that they genuinely do not believe in “war crimes” as a concept. they are not moved by constructs like the geneva convention. they think anything the winner does is fine

As someone who’s lived in both countries, this is exactly correct. However most of the liberal democracy country doesn’t understand that either. They have no concept of how bad things are on the other side because they can’t even conceive of it. And yet I’m ridiculed for even mentioning the reality.
Genuinely, one of the best insights anyone has given me on the US is that the rest of the world does not understand it is actually two countries. The first is a Western advanced liberal democracy. The other a theocratic, impoverished, violent and corrupt third world country.
I think people are allowed to draw conclusions about the American people based on their decision to put this man in office bsky.app/profile/pear...

I really do hate the rural poor. What a mistake it was giving them access to electricity and broadband. We should have been turning a blind eye to safety regulations in red counties, withholding federal funding and privatizing rural social services to Dollar General.

The thing about there needing to be a path of redemption for people who have been “canceled” is: there already is a path to redemption and it’s called “redeeming yourself.” The path is open! No one is blocking that! You just have to do it!

Things that sound nice aren't always true. "We'll inspire people to go out and vote!" - lots of other people have tried to inspire them. Lots of very important elections have gone by. They didn't vote. What are you going to do differently? At some point they're telling you something about themselves
There is a reason we focus on reliable, consistent voters during canvasses. Registering new voters is also an important piece, but when we actually engage with people on the doors and help them make plans to vote, energy is best put into ones who have already made voting a top priority.
People who have experienced politics over the last ten years and don't feel compelled to vote are generally pretty weird and often have quite questionable values. If you get them to the ballot booth you may not like what they do there.

when you do this, you demonstrate to me that you're not actually interested in understanding the way the world currently works and I'll just leave it at that.
we do want the same things, but you seem unconcerned with being taken seriously and I think that's a mistake.

i felt sorry for everyone making fun of him in the police car going through a lot of personal and substance stuff. but thanks to this one special headline i have been freed from the burden of pity. tight

This is the problem with hinging your entire political self on an abstract concept. What does that mean to "draw the line at genocide," exactly? What if we draw the line juuuust before that?
If they can’t draw the line at genocide then this isn’t a democracy.
