just think of all the successes nurtured by David Brooks’s advice to date
"Jon Ossoff, my advice to him is, if you start calling your political opponents Nazis, maybe it's time to shut up. That's just not what we do here in this country." -- David Brooks, this evening. Remember, Brooks still gets very handsomely rewarded by the fossilized media for saying shit like this

“I tried a thing because I might not like it, but I like sharing stuff with other people” is an incredibly prosocial and awesome impulse.
every time I see that "what if video games 100% personalized to me" post go by, I think about how you sports weirdos have gotten so agitated over sports events that I *went and tried to watch baseball* just for the joy of experiencing it with you, and I wonder what it is like to not feel that.

You can kill as many people as you want, but you target a beautiful precious data center? The one that hosted all 40,000 Sexy Ladies For Ken Paxton accounts?
Uh oh, did someone’s website and personal account experience a big drop in activity after Ukraine hit a Russian data center?

Will never not be shocking...
The "Party of Reagan" has the United States siding with Russian aggression against NATO allies and a brutal war on a European democratic US partner.

Yes, the whole party. If they didn't, they would impeach and remove the president who is blatantly breaking US law to help fund Russia's war effort.

Here's a young man, appears to be a teenager, shackled at the wrists and ankles, stopping on the stairs to give Seattle a long last look. If you watch the feed, you see that last look a lot.

Even in *apartheid South Africa* white Zimbawean "Rhodesians" who fled black rule were known as "way back whens" for their absurd nostalgia for a mediocre state
If you praise the Confederacy, everyone knows what you're doing. If you praise Rhodesia, though, you still get that little frisson of naughtiness, the little tingle of rebelliousness that can power you through the drudgery of your eight-hour shift at your dad's car dealership.

This is why people don’t believe me when I say Oklahoma is a real state
Oklahoma’s voter registration portal failed on the last day to sign up for the November election. The State Election Board didn’t return calls. Oklahoma Watch tested the system and confirmed it wasn’t working.

Obviously isn't going to happen before unified Dem government, but the time to push for it is now and soon - Dems should be making DC statehood (and PR if they want it) a key plank in the democracy agenda and a litmus test for presidential candidates.
dc statehood is non-negotiable after trump's actions in his second term. republicans despise the people of the city that hosts them, and there is little reason to think that, now that the seal is broken on treating them as an occupied population, a next republican president will be more restrained
