so the official bluesky policy position is that you can't tell someone to kill themselves but you can tell a protected minority category that you hope that state kills them. Am i getting that right.
Are they threatening trans users directly? No. Trans folks in the US have been targeted repeatedly. That's awful and you have my sympathy.

the thing that haunts me is the sure knowledge for every horror that's reported at least two will become known years after anything could be done about it.
I actually want to vomit. There is nothing that can redeem this moment. We are living through a regime that is victimizing immigrants in at least as bad a way as early Nazi Germany victimized Jews. We all fucking know. We, all of us, live in the Zone of Interest.

The attacks against trans people and abortion rights are fronts in the same war from the right to reestablish harsher, more rigid patriarchal domination.
It is urgently necessary to work against transphobia in politics period, and to understand transphobic politics as being a fundamental companion to anti-abortion politics -- a companion politic that is becoming more, not less virulent, whatever the GOP tries to sell pre-midterms

IMO we should be grounded in reality, and the reality is that Dems in general, even the Dem-right, have been pretty consistently pro-trans in action but not in rhetoric. The anti-trans Dems are outliers, and part of why they're alarming is their acceptance would mark a turn for the party.

One of the more insidious phrasings I've seen with the Dems/trans rights discourse lately is the idea that trans people are being greedy and demanding a "maximalist" approach to trans rights.
