Can someone explain why so many literary journals and agents still do so much social media on Twitter? Every time I go there I'm confronted by screeds of hate, lies, and vitriol. Please, publishing industry, remove yourself from the hatersphere.

The power of art.
Second short story in my collection finished. Really happy with this one. I'm very much enjoying the process of writing these. It's a wonderful distraction before I dive headlong into the third novel. I also feel I learn as much from a 2000 word short story as half a novel.

After telling an editor that I'm not a short story writer, I challenged myself to write one this weekend. Not only did I enjoy the process, I'm really proud of the result. I learned so much about precision in language and getting small sentences to do many things at once.

Am I the only one that finds chickpea skin revolting? Why don't they come skinned in the can? If you don't peel them, that's gross, whole thing looks like a mess of peeled blisters: disgusting when they come loose in your food.
