Thanks for your great question. As the state's chief elections official, the SoS has significant influence on the discussion and implementation of democracy in our state. The SoS campaign itself is statewide, offering broader debate compared to that in a single leg district.

I support #SB42 which gives CA voters the ability to empower the state's General Law cities w/the option to enact public financing #cleanmoney programs for local elections. Such cities should also be empowered to enact #rankedchoicevoting if they wish
