Been thinking about Jason Arday and the ableism aspect (obv racism is a big part). How people couldn't grasp that an autistic black man could be academically successful. That he must either have been cheating, or lying about being non-verbal as a child.

Many of the happiest and healthiest elderly people I know are the ones who volunteered or started seriously engaging in hobbies when they retired. Humans crave purpose and enrichment in their lives! A universal basic income wouldn’t stop most people from contributing to society. Promise.

Seeing a lot of discourse on benefits, which misses the mark entirely imo. 'But PIP enables disabled people to work' 'but many people on UC work full-time'. Still placing a moral value on paid work. What about the many people who can't or don't work?

Bird nerds - any clue which bird this belongs to? Found in a deciduous woodland in Wales, UK. I thought either tawny owl / common buzzard? But its too pale? Juvenile? #birds #ornithology

My local council are publicly patting themselves on the back cause they've planted some wildflowers next to the main road - which is great, but they've also been spraying glyphosphate along all the pavements in the area 🤷♂️

A thing I dislike about this app - when scrolling it often decides I'm trying to swipe left to the discover tab, when I'm just trying to stay on the following tab. I dont get this with any other app. Its so annoying.
