We need a reporting portal.

Too many people seem to regard reporting motor vehicle crime as somehow unsporting but driver crimes kill and these are not « accidents » but a consequence of our failure to address driver behaviour.

Design it out where possible, punish where necessary.
You might need to zoom in to see the driver of Nissan 251D17166 passing through junction of Dartry Road and Temple Road in Dublin 6 holding a bowl and spoon in their right hand while driving. We share the road with these people.

People need assistance during this fuel crisis, but this is not the way to do it.

Government has bowed to pressure from right wing lobbyists that chain us to fossil fuel dependence.

The debt for this will be paid in human health and wellbeing.

The rural villages thing.
East Limerick, from Limerick junction to Limerick Colbert the train passes directly through 3 villages(4 if you created a stop in Boher) with unused/repurposed stations. If they were brought back into circulation, t'would stop congestion on the ballysimon/Tipp road...
Donegal just needs to call itself the "Golfing Capital of the NW". This is fucking embarrassing. We won't build public transport infrastructure to link up the country, to help people get to work, to ease traffic congestion and spark repopulation in rural villages but...golf.
Joke of a country.

Cycle paths don’t have to be like roller coasters at driveways… and car access can still happen
When IrishCycle.com recently posted a video highlighting a shared path in Castlebar going up and down at driveways and how this is an outdated design, some people asked how driveway access could be maintained... or more so stated that there was no way that anything could be done while still allowing people to drive into their homes. The video below shows that the answer is good design -- mainly kerbs: …

Having Britain as an applicant would be, schadenfreude aside, a very clear message to political movements that might have been tempted towards leaving the EU and so would be a definite benefit to the EU.

Fast tracking accession after that much less so.
I tell the FT: “The EU wants a strategic sense of direction.” He adds that senior figures in Brussels are “all talking about” the British prime minister’s overtures. “There’s no plan, no detail but he has created the political space to have a conversation.”
