Feels like this for awhile. Physical effects fade first. Mental sobriety requires upkeep. I started with a book about mindfulness but have been in a 12step program since 2011. Went through hell 2yrs. ago with aging parents and family issues and did not pick up. Last drink was the same as the 1st one

I don’t have any meaningful point. I used to talk a lot more about mental health & now it feels performative. I did have a great convo w/my psychiatrist yesterday abt why medical professionals shouldn’t refer people to #12step #recovery #mentalhealth

12 step has an issue with rape, starting with Bill in the beginning. The GSO knows sexual assault is rampant & they don't care; they actively keep people & structures in place that exacerbate the problem. And the cultists don't care either #recovery #sobriety #recoveryposse #12step #friendofbillw

The idea of “PhD level intelligence” is very funny to me, personally, because I have worked with scientists for 20 years.
I know someone who has helped find treatments for diseases we didn’t even think were possible and also struggled to understand how the hot tap of a water cooler worked.

It's hard to find someone who doesn't want to be found. It's not like he's online if he's in a serious program.I can tell you from experience how much anonymity and confidentiality is guarded, especially if it's aligned w a 12step.
