My husband is in hospital with a severe C.Diff infection.

They started him on antibiotics yesterday. One dose every six hours.

He’s not had any doses for 21 hours now - and when I ask, the nurses say they can’t find a doctor to sign it off.

This is how resistance forms.

Answer is probably not a simple yes or no to prophylaxis during neutropenia but rather which patients should receive which or any antibiotics. FQ prophy does not have same benefits in patients colonized with FQ-R bacteria #IDsky #TxID #AMRsky
