Alevels=pure academic: about 20 % =points for uni entry. btec courses 25% = mix of exam, assessment/practice: =3 ALevels. We have new vocational GCSE & vocational Tlevels (technical practice) all catering to practical & academic study for uni/employment

It's also been going on in that part of North West for long time. Entire borough of Knowsley (pop 150k) doesn't have A Level provision. Even before that, my high school in Kirkby (pop 50k) in 2009 only offered two subjects at A Level, so I had to travel an hour by bus every day to St Helens.

Degree = levels 4, 5, 6
Post grad = level 7
Then masters... Then doctorate/phd

Yep. We're about to do this for at least one assessment per module (though it takes over a year to get amendments on the books).
Students are perfectly used to unseen handwritten exams anyway: they do them for GCSEs & ALevels. As long as there are adjustments for disabled students, no problem.

It took my daughter 20 minutes to come out of school with her GCSE results as I’m not allowed in as I’m “cringe” apparently! Nearly died of stress. But she passed Math!! And is onto ALevels and a privacy/ humanitarian pathway!

My 🔥 hot take 🔥 is that theres like a common experience as there are subjects everyone does, my a levels were different to my wife’s alevels which were different to my friends.Whereas a huge majority of LC students have done an Irish oral or read a certain book,therefore a certain camaraderie
