'Geeps' are so rare that even little 'Butterfly' here is suspect, as she was never confirmed to have hybrid chromosome numbers by cytogenetic analysis.

However, there are well documented, genotype-confirmed cases of goat-sheep hybridization.
Sheep and goats both belong to taxonomic Family 'Bovidae', with sheep in genus 'Ovis' and goats in genus 'Capra'. The two are often raised together on farms.

And very, very rarely, they can interbreed to produce hybrids called GEEP, as in Butterfly (shown), born 2014.

I want to go into research
Preferably something in natural sciences, soil sciences, ecology.

I have a Bach degree in MCD biology and experience as a cytogenetic lab technician + EHS officer.

Where do I look, and what are my prospects?

This recently published study highlights the prognostic significance of high-risk cytogenetic abnormalities in multiple myeloma. Genetic alterations like t(4;14), del(17p), and +1q are linked to poorer prognosis and shorter survival  #MM #hematology 👉https://bit.ly/3PzY1BT

Or rather, they don't think of them at all, because they have an ideologically blinkered view of sex and gender and the existence of people with any sort of intersex condition makes their dogma about trans people untenable.

But this isn't just a hypothetical. Such persons exist.

As an AFAB nonbinary person who 100% is shoved into the women’s box;
Hello
Im a very early career
MCD biologist. (Bach degree in spring2024)
I’m a cytogenetic technician trainee and hope to one day go into soil sciences.
I have always wanted to work with and do something important in my career.
Hey, women in science roll call! We’re not invisible and we can’t be erased. RT if you’re a woman in science!
Walking in to NASA’s JPL today as a woman in science leadership felt almost like a protest. They can take us off the webpages and the walls, but we will still be here, absolutely crushing it, and supporting our community while we do it.

Happy International Day of Women in Science, everyone.
