In Newcastle County Down, there is a postbox for those of diminutive stature to aid in ease of posting, although it doesn't help if you put things in front of it.

A postbox in Mullingar.

A colourful individual trying to offset the dreich, grey foreboding ambience.

That's right, it's my first #postboxsaturday of 2026.

If one Should enter the small town of Horseleap, on the Offaly/Westmeath border, one will encounter a postbox.

The guardians of this postbox are an individual called Gerald and his familiar, Arthur, and one must answer 3 questions to post in this postbox.

The last Friday in September is, traditionally, my last #FlowerPowerFriday of the year.

But there shall be more, not many, but more there shall be.

So enjoy a triple helping of Nature's Beauty with #WeirdNotWonderful ridiculousness.

In Ireland, it has rained every day in 2026 so far.

But hopefully this shall end soon, and there are signs it will, and #FlowerPowerFriday shall document this, and #WeirdNotWonderful #EnglishAbsurdity.

Does anybody remember the song, Green Door? Made famous in the 80s by Shakin' Stevens.

"There's an old piano, doo bee doo bee doo, behind the green door"

Well in Ballycumber, Co. Offaly, there is a postbox beside a green door. Equally deserving of a song.

Today being #Caturday, and Eric being a Cartoonist's Cat, he is enjoying some Absurdism supplied by the recently departed, Glen Baxter.

Rest in well deserved peace Mr. Baxter.

Today being #Caturday, and Eric being the proud Cat of a Cartoonist, I felt a desire to, Librocubicubularistically, read some W. Heath Robinson.

A wonderfully whimsical, eccentric and hilarious Cartoonist. A balm in this world of Trumpian Vulgarity.

Does anyone recollect the trend from the 80s when people tried sending mail by balloon?

Originally intended to lighten the workload of the poor postal workers, it became as much a part of the 80s as, deely-boppers

For #postboxsaturday in Tullamore, we remember simpler times

This postbox may look like a regular postbox... But a second glance will inform you that it is opposite a Pamela Scott's, so some sartorially elegant people must. Have used it.

So put on some of your finest clobber this #PostboxSaturday, and post a letter.

Floral tastemakers have been in touch, and I can now confirm, as the first Friday of April commences, purple is the latest thing, the new yellow, if you will.

And of course, those #WeirdNotWonderful creatures shall be adding Absurdity.

#FlowerPowerFriday, shall be, for the foreseeable future, daffodil-centric, blessed as we are with an awful lot of them...

But fear not, the #weirdnotwonderful creatures shall highlight the much required diversity we seek...

And, I suppose, the bountiful botanical beauty of Nature.

And the #EnglishAbsurdity of those #WeirdNotWonderful creatures.
