This Corriedale yarn was the first usable yarn I spun on drop spindles. It’s definitely spun too tightly in places but I am still so proud of it. It sparkles.

Suffolk fleece picked and prepped for the start of #tourdefleece tomorrow! It's lovely and bouncy, even if it is a bit squashed from being wrapped up away from moths - feels like it will spin up pretty quickly with plenty of grip. #dropspindlespinning #spinsky

It's a while since I posted any spinning, so here we are! This is a ply-up of lots of ends I had on various spindles and I'm really quite pleased with it. #yarnsky #dropspindlespinning #spinsky
A spindle wound thick, if not entirely full, of a 2-ply Wensleydale/alpaca mix. The same mix wound nicely onto my niddy-noddy - an even spin, slender gauge.

The Wensleydale yarn I dropspun earlier this year has now been piled and wound! It's super soft and I'm really pleased with it, although now I'm not entirely sure what to do with it...

A wooden niddy-noddy wound with a good weight of dropspun two-ply creamish white Wensleydale yarn. A closer look at the Wensleydale yarn on the niddy-noddy - despite the pace with which I spun it, it's come out reasonably even with a fairly consistent twist. A couple of little bobbles but overall I'm very pleased with it!

So here's the Jacob's I'd prepped so far spun up (3 eps of Alien Earth) - tried to let it be a thicker gauge than I usually spin, but kept forgetting. It's not the most even but it has a lovely halo. Going to prep some more now...

I had to ply up a bit of alpaca today. This will free up the spindle I will need to ply the qiviut on. This is a birdseye maple spindle that weighs .9 of an ounce. She's pretty, isn't she? I'm sorry, I can't remember the maker. #highwhorlspindle #dropspindlespinning #birdseyemaple #fiberarts

Today I discovered the Mini Minder by Lemonwood makes a perfect wrist distaff for spindle spinning. I just put the decorated side down. Bonus that it fits into my carry case too. #yarnspinning #handspinning #dropspindle #dropspindlespinning #handspun

I bought another wine case to transport my spindles safely. I was going to paint it blue, but the color is nicer in person than expected. I am going to add a tiny Tardis on it somewhere though. The swirls just make me think of galaxies. #reuse #yarnspinner #dropspindlespinning #highwhorlspindle
