Based on @benjaminjriley.bsky.social ‘s amazing investigative work, tbe question is not “Who on what appears to be the new eduTwitter works for Alpha School?” The real question is “Who DOESN’T work for Alpha School?”

This podcast series will leave you with much to think about - including why did 20% of 15-year-olds score as functionally illiterate in the recent PISA report? And why doesn’t this seem to trouble the DfE as much as it should? Available wherever you get your podcasts. #EduTwitter

I'm still trying to process it because I vaguely remember him from edutwitter where he was annoying. Is he really saying what he appears to be saying?

Seeing this all of my feed is so bizarre. It's like I've time travelled back to edutwitter circa 2018.
The only people who will benefit from Sold A Story Season 2 are Emily Hanford, the handful of DI consultants grifters partnering with AEI, and massive curriculum companies. Not kids. Not teachers.

The feeding frenzy for funding has already started.

A cause for cautious optimism:

SAS 1.0 was boosted by a very zealous crowd of educators & administrators on EduTwitter (RIP). It had grassroot support in many places.

Scrolling X about SAS 2.0 and I see a very different crowd. Boosters. Consultants. Corporations. Influencers. Advocates.

No Ts. 🤔

When I think of the edutwitter bubble and the misogyny edu debate, I remember that Tom Bennett and all the others blocked me on a Twitter account where I had my photo.

But they didn’t block a second more edu themed account where I had no image and people often spoke to me as a man😎

He won't be popular with 'trad edutwitter' for that one. People finally shifting to inclusive approaches?

Current version of EduTwitter is strange place. Many there believe that all tchrs r taught in ed schls & instructed by admin that direct instruction is always evil & if u question that belief, then "you aren't paying attention."The idea that diff situations call 4 diff instrctinal strtegies is WRONG!

I actively hated the 'you must be crazy to think that!' and 'look at this idiot!' posts that I used to see on edutwitter. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, etc. If you're genuinely using the scientific method you'd understand that. 🤷‍♀️
