Don't know if any of you have ever been tempted to use Evernote, but any company that eliminates their free tier AND makes current users subscribe to extract their own data is little better than a protection racket in my book.

Connect Evernote to an AI tool through MCP, choose a note and ask it to create a formatted .docx file.
You can even give it a template for reports or books.

evernote used to be a great & affordable tool, then in 2023 my sub renewal leapt from $64 to $114/yr — & in the past yr they gummed everything up w/annoying idiotic intrusive AI “features” that you have to hunt down & kill on the regular & jacked up renewal another 40+%… our world in a nutshell

i was extremely annoyed when evernote started making it so that you could only have 10 notes on a free account, but because of that i started using obsidian which i then found out is actually vastly superior so i'm somewhat glad evernote made their service awful
