For those self-hosting with an SSH port open, you should consider looking into fail2ban.
fail2ban is a "Daemon to ban hosts that cause multiple authentication errors". This will help protecting you against brute-force attacks.

It’s fine just enable fail2ban and disable password auth
having an ssh port open to the internet is so nice when you don't got a bitch in your ear telling you it's bad practice

I wasn't convinced Claude could really replace me until I watched it trigger fail2ban while configuring fail2ban and lock itself out, just like I would have. 🫡

Trying to keep jerks from joining bsky is the social media equivalent of fail2ban. Sounds good at first but ultimately persistent attackers learn how to avoid the rules.
