#Graphvizを使おう 2

前ツイのWindowsバッチより
dot -Tpng -o %~d1%~p1%~n1.png %1
の意味を解説.

まず,dotコマンドの
コマンドオプション:
-Tの後ろに出力画像形式.
-oの後ろに出力画像ファイル.
その後ろに入力dotファイル.

例:
dot -Tpng -o hoge.png hoge.dot

Windowsの場合
Graphvizをインストールし
binフォルダにPATHを通したら,
下記のようなバッチファイルを
作っておくと便利.

call_dot.bat

@echo off
dot -Tpng -o %~d1%~p1%~n1.png %1
pause

.dotファイルを
ドラッグドロップすると
グラフ画像を作ってくれる.

Also, because I *love* graphviz dot, I made a cutscene .dot exporter (that little dot button in the gui) to visualize what's going on. This is the script for the cutscene #gamedev #indiedev #godotengine

How I'm structuring things with @glyph 's new Automat API -- or, "how to use 6k+ lines of Python to draw a small diagram" ;)

Mermaid and Graphviz are great until you need a box to stay put, and dragging nodes in Draw.io defeats the point of code. Reladraw hit HN with a simple middle ground: a text language where you specify relative positioning instead of letting an engine guess. #devtools 1/4

🐳 🐙 Docker Compose Tip #90

docker compose alpha viz turns depends_on into a Graphviz graph. Pipe into dot -Tpng and any Compose file becomes a picture.

Still alpha since April 2023, no graduation date yet.

Docker Compose Tip #90: Seeing your service graph with docker compose alpha viz
docker compose alpha viz turns depends_on chains into a Graphviz graph, useful the moment a stack outgrows what you can trace by reading the file.

I’m getting good results using graphviz dot files as top-level spec files. Each node and edge includes a URL attribute pointing at a markdown file and section for more detail.

The graphs are tiny token wise, and act as both flowchart and table of contents for the more expensive markdown.

Map systemd boot dependencies and detect unit cycles visually. Pipe systemd-analyze dot to Graphviz to render D-Bus relationships (Requires, Wants, After).

This is for a custom serialization-like scheme, but to write Graphviz dot files of the object network, rather than to write a serialized form of the object to be deserialized later.

Every time I look at mermaid’s docs I get scared and go back to graphviz. I have never actually tried mermaid.
