This DAZZLING beauty is a Ruby-tailed wasp (also known as a Jewel wasp), in the family Chrysididae. They’re a real treat to watch but on a hot day, boy are they FAST! Their incredible iridescent bodies might catch your eye, but it can be hard to keep up…

It's #insectweek, and we are fluttering for joy after a fabulous day yesterday on our meadow walks.

Butterflies counted following the Big Butterfly Count,
notes taken for the Big Meadow Search,
and lots of spots spotted.
