It is amazing to see the broad interest in this important question from scientists from various institutes of our Faculty (LACDR, IBL, LIC, CML, LIACS, LION, MI) as well as the the LUMC. Martijn Manson became programme director for the Master’s in Pharmacy this month. He is a pharmacist as well as a lecturer and researcher at the LACDR (Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research). ‘LUMC and LACDR share the responsibility for training the pharmacists of the future.’

The Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR) has received a €750,000 grant from ZonMw for QPharmNL. This is a continuing education programme that trains professionals in computational techniques in pharmacology for innovative drug development.

As of 1 July, toxicologist Mirjam Luijten from the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) starts as professor by special appointment at the Leiden Academic Centre for Drug Research (LACDR).

We have set-up and tested an integrated coding environment for students at LACDR. Using the noteable platform, integrated with Brightspace, teach them coding in R and Python via Jupyter notebooks (including docking and 3D!)
