Going to do a little cross checking of lectionaries and see if I can use his notes in sermon prep in the coming months. It delightfully has notes of where he preached the demon and when, length of preach, and crossings out and additions when he has gone back in following years. 6/6

It’s perfect except for one thing—Jan 6 and I think Baptism of Christ (1 Epiphany) are white, with the other weeks are green

(imo Last Epiphany should also be white but the powerful Ordinary Time lobby suppresses my advocacy)

The Gospel lectionary reading for today is John 4:5–42, Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman. In the tradition of the Church, this woman is celebrated by name. Read more about this Sunday and how this story is remembered and depicted in Byzantine lectionaries.

I feel this way about most lectionaries, tbh
there was more business to find out what should be read, than to read it when it was found out.

On this feast of St Philip and James, the latter apostle is mentioned in TEC’s Office and Eucharist lectionaries together a total of exactly zero times!

The less said about James the Less the better, I guess!
