I have used Telnet a few times to connect to a few BBS systems that still exist. App on my Mac called MuffinTerm (Also on iOS/iPad) that has a directory of all this retro content.

playing around with this on that old iPad i found w the messed up speaker interference so i have to keep a dummy 3.5” jack in it at all times to avoid it screaming at me - fun if you want to explore some BBSes easy and cheap (literally free!) #retrocomputing

I took a wrong turn one time and drive near one specific place I lived in the TGC era, and just went on autopilot when I got where I was going, opened Muffinterm, and checked in on my dude in Swords of Chaos. Not beating the allegations.

I was so excited to be able to connect from my smartphone (via MuffinTerm) that I completely forgot that "access with your telephone" is the same way that I used to be able to connect to BBSes

!!! you can even access it in your web browser at this site. otherwise connect at bbs.darkrealms.ca (port 23), TELNET, all other settings normal on muffinterm :)
