I literally switched doctors once when she prescribed ashwaganda for what turned out to be PCOS, that's how seriously I take this.

The supply chain for supplements is utterly fucked, and peptides are somehow *even sketchier*

everyone's like "yeah renaming pcos is gonna be so helpful!!" and then its a comment section of the most insanely intersexist women youve ever seen in your life

I didn't mean PCOS. And I didn't go through a typical puberty – but that was attributed to other causes. So yes, I found out at 26, when I had a pelvic scan for unrelated reasons. And the results were unexpected.

Thanks to this "feminist" organisation though, for accusing me of lying about my body.

consensus seems to be "it isn't a cure for PCOS" but like it's a cure for a lot of the things PCOS causes!!! saying i can't have it because it isn't a cure is like saying "don't take ibuprofen for your tendonitis, it won't cure it" 🙄 do people listen to themselves

I wasn't diagnosed with PCOS (it's not called that anymore lol) until I was in my mid thirties. Do you know what it causes it? A mutation on the X chromosome. PCOS-havers are less likely to be cis than the average AFAB person. So how do terfs account for me? I'm XX but mutated, should I be a girl?
reminds me of that lady that only discovered blood chimerism from her fraternal twin brother (XY blood, XX everything else) when karyotyped due to trouble conceiving in her MID THIRTIES. literally no reason to ever learn that until then, and it was like 4 steps beyond a normal medical screening
I was taken to the GP about not having started my period age 15/16ish. If I remember correctly they did a blood test and I had low iron. Iron tablets. Then started hormonal contraception and never came off it. So I just assumed it was that. As I say, scan for something unrelated is how I found out.

...but also, PCOS/PMOS *is* a DSD. Some people don't like hearing that because its prevalence means A Lot Of People Have DSDs, but, we've known how it arises for a few years now and it very much is a DSD in the same way hypospadias is. It just ruins their numbers to admit this.
