#PacePoints
Approaching 4pm. Just a couple of #VisibleHealth PacePoints used so far, despite doing a fair amount of housework, cooking and some planning for work.

Still amazed that I've reached a routine of twice-weekly gym sessions. Long may this continue! I'm going in 🙏
September 29, 2026 at 2:56 PM
It was very close (!) but I ended Monday within all of my known 'Budgets' - For movement [ #KiActiv ] and for PacePoints [ #VisibleHealth - Based on Heartrate across the day ] 🙏
September 29, 2026 at 6:42 AM
Magic! Look how well Reclining on the back seat of my car takes my Heartrate back down to Resting Pace, after it was elevated for over 9 hours 👇

And I know that I coped with a daily PacePoints budget of 30, a few months ago 🙏

A reminder that I am #PEM -symptom-free; this is #Pacing to AVOID PEM.

...So I'm well-ahead of my #visible_health Pacesetter 👇

Only one thing for it: Park up and recline on the back seat of my car, in advance of tonight's band rehearsal. This invariably gets my heartrate back down!
September 28, 2026 at 4:47 PM
...I'm only 1.3 #visible_health PacePoints ahead of my daily Pacesetter 🙂

Lunch break - But I'm sitting here with my feet elevated for a few minutes before heading off to eat.

#Pacing to avoid overexertion and the #PEM associated with my #LongCovid 🙏
September 28, 2026 at 11:41 AM
My gym sessions are now twice-weekly 🙏

Flexibility, Strength & Cardio.

Fewer than three #VisibleHealth PacePoints used despite (carefully paced) weight training and two runs on the treadmill - one minute of which was sprinting 🙂

7pm. A restful Saturday 🙏
September 26, 2026 at 6:12 PM
But I kept my heartrate nice and low, so my #VisibleHealth PacePoints usage has been pretty low, considering the fact that I taught five groups of ~30 students at a time, Year 7s to Year 10s, including a Physics lesson with multiple experiments and practical demonstrations.

I love my teaching job.

Visible is so useful 🙏
September 24, 2026 at 6:10 PM
Teaching my 4th Year 8 class of the day [a Physics lesson with exciting Demonstrations!] really clocked-up the PacePoints, but my 2-hour Union Meeting in Torquay really calmed my heartrate down 🙂

Now taking a few minutes reclining on the back seat of my car before orchestra 🙏

Good timing, as days don't get much busier than today...

Getting up earlier than usual, so starting to use-up PacePoints and my Movement Quota earlier.

Full teaching day including moving between classrooms and Physics labs.

Union meeting after work.

Orchestra rehearsal until 10pm!

2pm. All I've managed so far today has centred around cooking enough food for around 7 or 8 meals; not bad, I suppose.

3.5 #VisibleHealth PacePoints used, so I'm more than 7 PP behind my daily pacesetter...

And I've used one-third of my daily 'Moderate' movement quota of 60 minutes - #KiActiv...
September 22, 2026 at 1:03 PM
So I've checked my #VisibleHealth pacepoints 👇

Only half (12) of today's allocation of pacepoints used so far 👍

But my #KiActiv movement data reveal what my wobbly legs were starting to tell me: I've just exceeded my nominal 60 daily minutes of 'Moderate' movement.

Will go Slow-Mo. this evening!

Note that this was NOT an actual Ofsted lesson observation; rather, it was just a few minutes of observation by our Headteacher and a retired #Ofsted inspector at the start of my lesson.

Interesting to see what such experiences can do to heartrate!

Well-within today's #visible_health PacePoints because I have mostly been lying down today - including during my time here in the gym!

#Pacing and #Micropacing to avoid exertion and debilitating #LongCovid #PEM symptoms 🙏
September 20, 2026 at 3:20 PM
Micropacing the gardening.

Another session like this 👇 using my second 20-minute quota of 'Moderate' movement [ #KiActiv ] and then I'll have enough for a gym visit 🙏

Monday evening band rehearsal putting the brakes on nicely after a long day at work 🙏
September 14, 2026 at 8:04 PM
Being SIXTEEN Visible Health pacepoints behind today's pacesetter, the only thing that will keep me #pacing and #resting between exercises is my self-control and memories of awful Post-Exertional-Malaise.

I don't want #PEM so I enjoy the exercise in short bursts only.

Interesting how easy it is to Pace when I don't have impending deadlines 🤔

My first physical challenge of the day was walking up the steep slope that is Totnes High Street; but the first physical activity each new day is invariably easy!

An enjoyable hour in town, for fewer than 2 #PacePoints 🙏
September 12, 2026 at 12:23 PM
Lunchtime!

Quick check with #VisibleHealth

Important to note that I have increased my daily PacePoints quota to 24PP, but in any case this shows good #pacing and a lack of Exertional heartrates 👇
September 11, 2026 at 12:36 PM
Settling at a new daily PacePoints budget of 24 🙏

Ending the day 0.6 PP below that new limit.
September 10, 2026 at 9:30 PM
Goalposts well-and-truly shifted 😄

I've only used 0.1 of a PacePoint in the last 30 minutes, as my heartrate been low, from lying down.

3.3 PacePoints to get me through tonight's orchestra rehearsal will be challenging, but I'm going to try 🙏

I MUST avoid moving anything but really slowly!
September 10, 2026 at 4:24 PM
But 25 minutes of resting across the back seat of my car has finally brought my heartrate down.

And I used to get away with a (self-set) daily PacePoints (PP) allocation of 30 PP 🤔

Rather than blowing my budget, I'm going to take a risk and raise my daily limit from 22 to 25 PacePoints...
September 10, 2026 at 4:16 PM
So I've reached my self-set Movement limits for today 🤔

Then there are my Heartrate-based PacePoints limits - again self-set - via @visible_health:

A few minutes ago, as I first reclined on my car's back seat, I was more than five PacePoints ahead of my daily Pacesetter 👇
September 10, 2026 at 4:11 PM
My first Tuesday off-work of the new academic year was mostly focused on my Health 🙏

Ending the day with an early night, having used fewer than 5 of my daily 22 #VisibleHealth pace points.

More busy school days ahead.
