#Panarchy
Protests need to happen now, across multiple levels. The longer we wait, the more rigid the system becomes, just like panarchy teaches us. Breaking inertia later demands more force. Test boundaries early. #Panarchy #SystemsChange #ActNow

"What are they for?"

This may seem extraordinary, but it is exactly how the jurisdiction of the courts evolves.

The second analogy to natural systems in my thesis was the idea of panarchy. Panarchy is a simplified framework for understanding how natural systems collapse, change and consolidate.

So, from global centralisation, the great forum of EduTwitter, to local Whatsapp groups. Is EduSocialmedia in "alpha" now?

Very cool to see this! Aviezer Tucker and I just spoke about Schlick's idea of non-territorial states at a conference. More generally, this political theory is also known as panarchy; see: www.routledge.com/Panarchy-Pol....

And we are working on an English translation of Schlick's text.

Another oldie but goodie for #ArtAdventCalendar Day 16: That time I photographed a bunch of greek houses at Dartmouth and some of them got published in the alumni magazine.

This is one of my favorites from the Panarchy basement.

The collapse of networks on X will allow reorganisation & the chance for new ideas to push through the EduSocialMedia hegemonies (& +ve feedback loops on accounts with big followings).

It explores the utility of Holling's model of panarchy in evaluating and interpreting how traditions of collective governance of heathland and other commons might mitigate risks from short-term shocks to medium-term social and economic resilience.

That is what it sounds like: a Doom Loop spiraling downward to a dysfunctional dystopian state, or even total collapse. So, how does this end, you may ask?
It's difficult to say. (we are the era of diminish returns after all) but if Panarchy Theory holds, we are in for a bit of a rough patch. /8

The point about subculture, echo chambers, and experimentation really echoes the ecological concept of panarchy - experimentation starts at the finest levels and the "role" of larger structures or organizations is to provide stability and evaluation of experimentation.

… a different world is possible. One in which we don’t seek endless exploitation in the panarchy cycle, but stability. Earlier civilisations have achieved this - before they were destroyed by drunken mobsters from the West. These societies were capable of high levels of culture & sophistication …

The Panarchy is in shambles & an ancient artifact they call the Suneater looms! #ScienceFiction #SpaceOpera

Good and concise election information pod.

Nice save by qualifying your use of "anarchy" - we liberty types can be cranky about the overly colloquial uses of our words. We actually need a couple more for the dystopias, saving "anarchy" for a hope and goal. Maybe, "panarchy" and "disarchy" would do.
