I never tire of Wood Warblers. Absolute gleaming jewels. This bird was my second of the autumn (unusual in itself as they’re usually spring birds here) and it was the only passerine migrant I saw all day.

Got a message from our postie, Christine, about a woodpecker up the road from the house but I was down the south of the isle! I chanced it an hour later and rounding a bend it flew straight past me! By no means annual here and mobile when they do occur cos they struggle to find food. #WestrayBirding
