I just realized I didn't explain anything:
I have no immunity to the pathogens in this city, and I'm dying like an astronaut landing on an alien planet in a horror movie.

If only my immune system would take actual pathogens as seriously as it takes this!

No don't buy the mummy for sale online.

They may harbor pathogens like Aspergillus spores that can survive hundreds of years. When they face shifting moisture levels in transit, the pathogens can reanimate, endangering couriers, postal workers, unsuspecting buyers.

🚨 PhD opportunity with me, @jpjhall.bsky.social and @brockhurstlab.bsky.social on how we can use plasmid-driven metabolic vulnerabilities to tackle multidrug resistant pathogens. Happy to chat if interested!

Interesting review for anyone interested in intracellular pathogens generally… such as those studying #UTI who would like to compare and contrast 🤔

Thank god the percentage of feces in my sandwich has gone down from 5.02% to 5.01%. I was just starting to get worried about the pathogens.

It’s Halloween and I’m doing Bloodborne Pathogens training at work so I’m having fun imagining what Bloodborne Pathogens training would be like for vampires.

Airborne pathogens I could understand but blood .... Not so much

We have a process in our bodies called opsonization, in which cells produce surfactant proteins that coat pathogens, making them highly recognizable & easier for resident immune cells to consume and destroy and holy shite this is just one part of us that developed from a single egg and sperm. 🤯

that is one kick ass photo

bird flu? dairy farm?

pathogens jumping from one species to another, what could possibly go wrong
Bird flu is still here. We just hear very little about it since testing is down. A person who appears to have been infected on a dairy farm in Washington has just died of the disease.

In 2024, this triggered press briefings & policy changes. Nothing, now. (1/2)

It would be an interesting story to look at what proportion of the pathogens that present major pandemic risks are associated with guidance still mired in the out of date droplet dogma the UK COVID Inquiry highlighted as a "widespread failure".

Institutional medicine: saving face over saving lives.
Confirmed, the science cosplayers running the show at the WHO have decided that "droplet precautions" are appropriate for pneumonic plague. This is the 2024 WHO guidance.

This is why we need to see serious jail time for their COVID negligence, NOW.
