MORE WOKE DATACENTERS.

REACT NATIVE DELENDA EST.
ya i think it’s possibly time to throw in the towel on react native. the swift rewrite is at full feature parity for < $700 over two weeks and is infinitely more buttery both in perf and battery consumption. time to have it do the kotlin version.

the discord CTO said they’re rewriting all of discord into rust and killing electron/react native and im ngl we might be looking at the potential first good discord update ever

native != good obv, and react native is native, it's just not very good, but hopefully maybe the new client will be better

I’ve been saying this. I think React native is basically never worth it. I say this as a react native developer at my day job

Woke up to the realization that I've shipped as much of more in two months than I did in six years at FAANG (excluding react.dev and reactnative.dev).

And it's not just writing code. I'm able to collaborate with people who are able to do more with LLMs.

what if all those so-called 'react native' apps secretly embedded a PHP interpreter all this time
November 4, 2026 at 6:50 PM
same reason imo to not use react native anymore. you're forcing yourself into tradeoffs that make no sense when there is very little value in having a single codebase for anything other than state and other logic
