Callosoma scrutator, the Fiery Searcher, a ridiculously #fabulous ground #beetle. These are beneficial garden predators. They are also very hyper, and highly curious, getting shots of them takes patience (though not quite as much as tiger beetles 😂

This week I was blessed by a visitation of the Fiery Searcher, #Calosoma scrutator. An absolute living jewel of a #beetle. It was also very curious and spent a good 5 minutes hanging out on my shirt 🥰
