Not a fan of referring to the IS crimes against the Yazidis as "the Yazidi genocide" because it is in fact the second Yazidi genocide. The first Yazidi genocide was coterminous with the Armenian genocide, the Sayfo, and the Greek genocide.

The Kurds have been dealing with a rotating cast of Empires for a *long ass* time, with the last 100 years seeing the Ottomans, the Brits, the Russians, the U.S., all promising and breaking promises. They have been ethnically cleansed, fought ISIS, and in part had a hand in the Sayfo.
