#Sequelae
Researchers analyzed nearly 2,900 blood proteins from 495 COVID survivors.

They identified 235 proteins linked to 15 persistent symptoms, revealing distinct patterns involving inflammation, immune signaling, and metabolism.

honestly very "late stroke sequelae" shit here
"Fetterman largely holes up in his Capitol office, lying on the couch and scrolling Apple News, several former staffers said.

"'Every day was a battle that by the end of the day you were physically and emotionally battered just by getting John to do any part of his job,' a former staffer said...."
How John Fetterman spends his time comes under more scrutiny as he weighs future in the Senate
The Pennsylvania Democrat has been labeled an absentee senator for years. As he floats the possibility of running again, what has he actually done?

That's funny.
And of course you explained that the actual flu is more severe, can have long-term sequelae, and you're protecting others.

I expect that the trends will curve down even more as some of the sequelae start kicking in. I wouldn't be surprised at all for life expectancy to drop into the 50s or 60s.

I wonder if a more neutral language is helpful? “Experienced” over “suffered”, and “sequelae” over “consequences”?

They remain hopeful because they are children. If they get to become adults, especially those who will continue to suffer from the sequelae and they’ll have lost all hope with their lives and health. 😢😢😢

shout out to the health commissioner in buffalo new york who in 1919 wanted to study post viral sequelae and just went and tracked down every single person in buffalo who had had the flu to ask about it

Does the wording imply that this was her second measles infection, or is it intended to preempt misattribution of fatal sequelae from that previously diagnosed episode?

I’m listening to a medical podcast and the host just used the word “sequelae,” a word I’ve only ever read and have never heard

People, I was way off on the pronunciation

My screenshot is of the post made in r/Meirl of the Tweet (described above), showing that it has 21k upvotes and 2.8k comments... none about Long COVID or ME/CFS.

My point: Something is definitely off. Everyone feels it. But nobody gets it.

I'm not saying it's ONLY post-acute sequelae. But come on

Did you get the combined flu+Covid one? A bit pricier, but better than a week in bed with Covid, not to mention the possible long-term sequelae.

The studies you've published are not just eye opening, they're frightening. The anti-vax public remains stalwart in their delusional beliefs that somehow getting COVID is like the flu. We are now seeing evidence that COVID's sequelae can be a lifetime of disability.

University of Helsinki researchers studied 218 people and found elevated oral inflammatory proteins MMP-8, MMP-9, and TIMP-1 in Long COVID.

Findings suggest persistent inflammation and altered tissue breakdown, detectable through a simple mouth rinse.

I don’t block people for disagreeing with me. What other people do is their business.

Trump is a fearful old man who is physically infirm. He would not fare well in either a debate or the likely sequelae of a debate with Omar.

That’s all there is to it. He is intimidated by her presence.

The sequelae visible to me are that I’m fine but my shoes rub, and my ankle’s unstable but I’ve never sprained it, and certain leg muscles are always tight AF as they stabilize things not meant to be used quite that way, and I have Strong And Complicated Feelings about pediatric medical consent.
