I tested a 99.9 Wh travel battery with both of my CPAP machines. It ran my AirMini with HumidX for four nights of 6.5 hours, and my AirSense 10 for 13.5 hours across two nights, so my full ES270 review sets out what that means for flying under the 100 Wh limit. #CPAP #SleepApnea

Why You CAN'T SLEEP: Is It Just STRESS or a Serious Sleep Disorder?
Ever laid awake at 3:00 AM wondering if your own brain is plotting against you? Or jolted upright to a sound like a bomb going off inside your skull? 🧠💥 Here’s the controversial truth society won't tell you: your exhaustion isn’t a personal failure, a lack of willpower, or just 'stress.' In this eye-opening episode, we rip the covers off the dark, bizarre, and deeply misunderstood world of sleep disorders—from crippling chronic insomnia and deadly obstructive sleep apnea to uncanny phenomena like narcolepsy, parasomnias, and the terrifyingly real exploding head syndrome. Stop blaming your bedtime screen time for biological misfires you can't control with sheer discipline. We explore the cutting-edge neurology of sleep, unpack how hormonal imbalances derail your body clock, and explain why mainstream 'sleep hacks' usually flop. 🔍 In this episode, you’ll discover: - The Neurobiology of Broken Sleep: Why your brain refuses to hit the 'off' switch and how neurological glitches cause involuntary movements, panic, and micro-awakenings. - Beyond the Snore: The silent dangers of airway blockages and how oxygen deprivation quietly wrecks your cardiovascular system. - Rare Midnight Mysteries: What really happens during sleep paralysis, violent sleepwalking, and sudden auditory hallucinations. - Real, Evidence-Based Fixes: Why sleeping pills are rarely the long-term answer, and how CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) and specialized airway solutions work with your biology rather than against it. Stop waging war on your bedroom ceiling. Once you understand the physiological mechanics behind your restless nights, the shame disappears—and true restorative rest finally becomes possible. ✨ 🎧 Hit Subscribe, share this with a fellow night owl who needs real answers, and reclaim your nights today!

Apparently I was slightly incorrect; they take the device out but the leads/wires stay in. I guess if you react to the wires, they might be able to take them out but it could be a riskier procedure.

If you’re looking for info, I recommend looking at PubMed studies or looking on /r/SleepApnea Reddit

Did you know sleep apnea is classified into three levels based on how frequently your breathing is interrupted during sleep?

🟢 Mild: 5–14 breathing disruptions per hour

🟠 Moderate: 15–29 per hour

🔴 Severe: 30 or more per hour

New JMIR BioMedEng: Accelerometry-Based and Gyroscope-Based Detection of Sleep Apnea Events: Systematic Review of Technical and Clinical Evidence #SleepApnea #SleepDisorders #HealthTech #CardiovascularHealth #MedicalResearch
Accelerometry-Based and Gyroscope-Based Detection of Sleep Apnea Events: Systematic Review of Technical and Clinical Evidence
Background: Sleep apnea is a common but frequently underdiagnosed disorder associated with increased cardiovascular and metabolic risk. Although polysomnography remains the diagnostic gold standard, its high cost, technical complexity, and limited availability restrict large-scale screening and continuous monitoring. Accelerometry-based and gyroscope-based approaches may represent a simplified alternative that can also be applied in home-based settings. Objective: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the technical and clinical evidence for accelerometry-based and gyroscope-based detection of apnea and hypopnea events and to assess their potential clinical applicability. Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted on April 12, 2025, in PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, and IEEE Xplore following PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) 2020 guidelines. Studies investigating accelerometers, gyroscopes, inertial measurement units, seismocardiography, or ballistocardiography for apnea or hypopnea detection were included. Extracted data comprised study characteristics, sensor configurations, signal processing approaches, validation strategies, diagnostic performance, and clinical applicability. Methodological quality was assessed using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies 2 (QUADAS-2) tool. Results: A total of 46 studies published between 2010 and 2025 were included. Most studies used accelerometers as the primary sensing modality, whereas gyroscopes were mainly applied in multimodal inertial measurement unit systems. Binary classification between apnea and nonapnea phases was the predominant analytical approach. Reported sensitivities ranged from 30% to 99%, depending on study settings, validation strategies, and evaluation levels. High diagnostic performance was mainly observed in simulation-based studies under controlled conditions. The included studies differed considerably in sensor placement, sampling frequencies, preprocessing pipelines, segmentation strategies, validation procedures, and reference standards. Only a minority of studies used polysomnography as the reference standard or included clinically representative populations. Furthermore, limited external validation, insufficient reproducibility, and a high risk of bias reduced comparability and clinical transferability. Conclusions: Current evidence supports the feasibility of accelerometer-based respiratory monitoring for sleep apnea screening, particularly in wearable and home-monitoring settings. However, most available studies were conducted under controlled experimental conditions and included only limited clinical validation. Standardized validation procedures and clinically representative cohorts are necessary to improve comparability and clinical transferability.
