Happy National Doctor’s Day. And tomorrow, we celebrate 20 years of service to our island communities at Medical Associates of the Pacific, LLC Clinic Saipan. From supertyphoons to superbugs, we remain committed as ever to providing health care our patients and families deserve.

Four typhoons have hit the Philippines in ten days.

Three were 150 mph supertyphoons.

Man-yi made two landfalls. Three of the super typhoon landfalls occurred on the island of Luzon.

4 typhoons have hit the Philippines in just the past 10 days
It’s the most active November on record after a slow start to the 2024 Pacific typhoon season that’s now in hyperdrive.

'Tangina, ang kakapal ng mga mukha ninyo, mga punyeta

I hope our annual run of 20+ typhoons (and at least 3 supertyphoons) destroy the fcking thing

*sheepishly kicks the floor*

I did not...I was living in the tropics on the other side of the planet (we got supertyphoons instead). But ever since I moved to Philly, people talk about that year.

reading the news is making me insane bc on one page you have reports about killer heat waves and supertyphoons and record rainfall and on another page it's "government invests six billion dollars in AI"
August 15, 2025 at 2:35 AM
if its not the 45-48 degree celsius of heat during dry season its the intense floodings during the wet ones and supertyphoons forming within the span of 2 days or less lol 😂 god

cant believe supertyphoons are normal now like you would think being the first country to experience the first occurrence of a supertyphoon meant we would have better infrastructures etc and now it just feels like [waves hands]

I’m fine because our house was designed to withstand supertyphoons and was also very elevated from the road so that we don’t get flooded

all I need is a good signal to maintain during this and if anyone needs radio comms in our area I can do it

Now you know why every time a supertyphoon hits the country, the flood destroys Filipinos' lives. The Philippines is one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change. The country gets the biggest supertyphoons yet they stole 1.7 TRILLION PESOS supposedly for Flood Control Projects.

Private Catholic school graduate in the Philippines: discussed in history and literature, some excerpts in English and Filipino, no full text (wasn’t feasible because of all the class suspensions due to supertyphoons)

Followers, were you taught about Homer in K-12 education?
i mean i was obviously not raised in the west but i somehow dont believe that your kids aren't taught homer.

Y'all - this is literally insane. I am pretty sure that I have never seen automated satellite intensity estimates this high on an Atlantic hurricane. Dvorak T-numbers approaching 8.5 are almost always with west Pac supertyphoons. Graphic from UW-CIMSS.
