I mean, "crappy taxidermy" is a keyword in itself, but boy... Grew up in a prolific trophy hunter/wildmeat preferring family (don't like the taste myself or care for these kinds of "art") & precise hunter/marksman over multiple generations.
I know good taxidermied animals, but seldomly like them.

Yup, died to scaracks and lost half a stack of iron ore because the wild meat was nerfed and I didn't realise I was healing slower 🤡

I hope we get some more chef recipes that include cooked wildmeat, since all my meat is sitting there useless now that I can get better healing from vegetable sticks

Women play vital, but often overlooked, roles in wildmeat systems worldwide.

A review of 300+ studies across 54 countries highlights women's influence from household consumption to market trade, yet their voices are rarely heard in decision-making.

Reflecting on the role humans should play as protectors of #nature. Interesting discussion starter here by @hannahritchie.bsky.social about #wildmeat. I agree wholeheartedly: it's not a way to feed a population of our size. substack.com/@hannahritch...
Eating wild animals might be sustainable for the few, but not for the many
Some back-of-the-envelope calculations on how many it could feed.

Some of the most promising solutions we found:
✅ Stronger community forest governance
✅ Incentives for conservation in working landscapes
✅ Reducing urban wildmeat demand
✅ Aligning climate + biodiversity goals
✅ Better monitoring and evaluation tools
