In particular don't use a wordprocessor that includes AI, particularly if you're tracking changes with a human editor. Those human to human interactions are gold. Don't let AI snoop on them.

The bit about software and ensuring you archive things in a format that can still be read in 10yrs is crucial.

My radicalizing moment for this was ~1yr after graduating: the company making the wordprocessor i used to write my thesis died. I still have the file, but it's useless.
