#LateNightWrite Heyo, it's Ellen. I write secondary world fantasy, and since I finished drafting #WynneWIP today, I can put all my focus on revisions for #OuroborosWIP, a science fantasy where people can traverse the void between the worlds via magic airship. I'm also querying a military fantasy.

#LateNightWrite Heyo, it's Ellen. I write secondary world fantasy, and since I finished drafting #WynneWIP today, I can put all my focus on revisions for #OuroborosWIP, a science fantasy where people can traverse the void between the worlds via magic airship. I'm also querying a military fantasy.
B. Always B. Please observe how I am currently dealing with #WynneWIP, despite the fact that it's really not going how I want it to and I basically expect to rewrite huge swaths if not the whole thing. I'm a glutton for punishment.
When you're writing a book and you get stuck drafting, do you...

I #amdrafting #WynneWIP, but it hasn't come out how I wanted it, so my motivation to write is low. But I'm also near the end, so I can't just bail. I have copious free time, so I'm going to power through while also revising #OuroborosWIP, since that has a clear plan and I like it.

It's actually varied by WIP. Like Just Stabs and the original Dragoneer stalled in the middle, but WynneWIP and Broken Hero were SLOGS to get through the end. Beginnings are usually fine, though.

I've finished the first draft of #WynneWIP. I've already closed the document and don't plan to open it again for a good long while. I've known for a while I'm not happy with this WIP. The world hasn't come out how I wanted, and the plot feels haphazard and too focused on setting up the next book. 1/
